Life’s Work: Chapter 10

Life’s Work: Chapter 10 – Life in all its FULLNESS.

“The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life – life in all its fullness.” John 10:10

Kazim’s time for staying in Sweden and the Euro Zone was nearing an end – his allotted three months, plus two months extension. So, he made up his mind to return to New York, USA. However, before finalizing plans, an invitation was extended to him to visit Seychelles. Kazim took up the offer to continue his stroke recovery there in the tropical weather. After intense praying he asked and received support from a kind friend to make the journey to Holland to spend time with family, before making the trip to Seychelles, via Dubai.

Kazim attended a fundraiser for the National Council for Children in Seychelles, and produced these 2 videos.

In Seychelles, Kazim continued exercising his body, for everyday is an opportunity for healing and getting back healthy physically. And he came with the intention of learning more computer skills.  So, he brought with him lots of programs and tutorials. He wanted to develop apps for mobile devices, and had embarked on learning even before arriving.

In addition, he thought about getting married while there in Seychelles, and his girlfriend Angela arrived in June. Angela thought she was in paradise with the tropical climate, nature – beaches, lush vegetation…..

After Angela’s arrival, the very next morning they left their residence and traveled by car to Victoria, Mahe, the capital of Seychelles, in order to register and apply for a date for the marriage ceremony. On their return to their residence, three hours later, to their amazement, Kazim’s two laptops and his external hard drive with his data, files, programs, tutorials, photos, videos and other files – most of his life’s work – were stolen. His girlfriend – Angela’s netbook was also stolen. Well Angela’s paradise changed. Kazim realized this was a major situation in his life. His computers and hard drives are his life’s tools that he uses daily to do his work. It is how he makes a living.

However, Kazim looks at life from different perspectives. For he believes, if such unlawful activities goes on in a community, then, more education, work opportunities, and moral values, should be considered and put into the society to alleviate these unwanted issues. This is Kazim’s foremost  purpose in life – helping others.

Jesus heard them and answered, “People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick. I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.” Mark 2:17

Also, because something unpleasant is experienced, this should not be the determining factor for all concerned. Seychelles has lots of beautiful minded persons as well. And some of these people Kazim considers as dear family and friends.

In addition, such act as taking what does not belong to you, is considered not as being the way law abiding citizens, or decent folks, or spiritually-minded, or someone with a conscience, behaves. And that is a transgression on the part of the person committing such act. Kazim did not do the act, so he should feel good knowing that.

The person or persons know they did something that was not right. They have taken objects from Kazim. However, they did not take his heart. He knows what they took was of value to him. It meant a lot to the universe, for he was working for our Creator and humanity. Kazim thinks this is small in comparison to how big his heart really is. What they took is small compared to what is he doing right now, and what he yearns to do for our Creator, and the days, and months, and years ahead, God willing.

And they cannot steal his JOY. He can laugh, because he is happy serving our Creator, and humans, even those who stole from him. He wants and works to make this place a better place.

“for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Most importantly, they cannot break ‘his’ spirit. Because it is the Holy Spirit in him. He is doing the will of our Father. And, this is what defines us. We must overcome at all cost. Praise our Father through it all. His Spirit lives in us.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Also, if a place is classified as ‘close to nature’ (as Seychelles is described as), it should really be ‘a spirit-filled place’ or one should ‘feel the presence of God’. And if it is not spirit filled, then we should invoke the Holy Spirit.

Not only for Seychelles, for many places in our world right now.  Everywhere! Places that have unrest, and need our prayers. This is how we can make a difference. Prayer works – by us living together with one another in harmony! We pray for our Representatives – the people for whom we vote – So they can discharge their duties faithfully, and serve our people with love. We pray for our employers – So they can treat workers as humans with dignity. We pray for workers – So they can give of their services with joy in their hearts knowing they are building their communities, our world. We pray for those souls, who cry out to us (when they commit unholy deeds), that our Creator would send His Spirit to change their ways for betterment of all concerned. We pray for peace. We pray for each other – for at this very moment – someone is in need, somewhere in our world. So many reasons to pray – loss of life, souls who need peace of mind, for whatever situation they are experiencing. Thank You God, Amen.

This is the purpose of this The Empowering ARTist Blog ! To provide resources to empower one another, so we can live in peace and harmony on earth right now.

Finally, what lessons can we learn from this ordeal? First, how can we secure our possessions better? We can start with sturdier walls, better doors and windows and locks. The physical structures that houses our possessions. Be it our homes, or other places. Next, security devices – alarms, closed-circuit televisions, monitoring systems or agencies, online and live surveillance, back-up power in case electricity is cut.

Then, how can we minimize our losses? We can make sure to back up our devices in more than one way. Back up our files and data on CDs. DVDs, External hard drives, flash drives, upload files in the cloud (online servers). Save these back up devices with your data and files at your premises, and another secure location or locations, in event of a break-in, damage to your home – fire, etc.

Also, put tracking software on our computers. Make sure your drives are password protected, so no one can access your computers, external hard drives, flash drives.

Do what your ‘intuition’ tells you do. Follow or heed the ‘promptings of the Holy Spirit’ in you above all. It is protecting you, so listen to ‘the still small voice within you’. Others may advice you differently, they may mean well, out of the goodness of their hearts. In my case, I was ‘instructed by spirit’, (I did not obey), before I leave this certain premises, to always close my computers and conceal them, away from plain sight. Because the more time it takes someone like a robber to try and  locate your important personal items, the better chances for you to survive these experiences. The robber wants to make a fast break away. So do not make oneself an easy target, and easy for them. And remember:  “With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.”

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
