Life’s Work: Chapter 6: Reunions and more
Now back in New York, Kazim set about finishing coordinate the Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary in the New York area. And the event was held in October at the residence of Sheldon Gomes in Long Island, New York.
In this Long Island, New York photo, from left – Dave Lalla, Kazim Abasali, Carlton Seedansingh, and Sheldon Gomes. These guys – Dave, Carlton and Sheldon helped overwhelmingly to make this Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary New York Reunion happen.
And of course, our honored guest for the Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary New York Reunion was Fitzgerald ‘Lutch’ Baboolal. ‘Lutch’ was one of the longest serving teachers of the college. Thanks also to his younger brother Noel ‘Corky’ Baboolal for his support.
Also in attendance were specially invited friends Clinton Narine (left in photo), and Cliff Betrand. Cliff is like a mentor to our younger generation, while Clinton serves our country’s citizens as an officer with Trinidad & Tobago Consulate in New York.
Cliff Betrand (left) mentoring some of our younger generation at our reunion. Sheridon Hill (2nd from left, next to Cliff) came from Washington, District of Columbia, the USA capital, to attend this reunion.
In the catering department, Michael Lopez, his wife Kathleen, and family excelled. What a treat!!!
And here is our Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary New York Reunion group. Thanks to all here who came together to make this reunion a reality. It is to their credit, and family and friends, that the event materialized. Supporting with phone calls to invite friends, transportation, eats, drinks, and financial donations. The enthusiasm and love was felt. Friendships were renewed, and blossomed over the ensuing years. Thanks to Sheldon (and his family) for opening his heart and his home to us. We cherish the memories.

A close bond developed at the Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary New York Reunion. Trevor Matthews (extreme right) serves as a support system for Fitzgerald ‘Lutch’ Baboolal (next to Matthews).
After the Holy Cross College Arima 50th Anniversary New York Reunion, the friendships that were rekindled continued. Dave Lalla would prove to be source of strength for our overseas-based Holy Cross College fraternity. Constant phone calls to know how one was doing were the order of the day. And personal visits would say how much loving care there was and still continues.

Another set of Holy Cross College Arima New York friendships that blossomed. Photo taken in New Jersey, USA, at the home of Ralph Jennings (extreme left). Next to Ralph is Kazim Abasali, Dave Lalla, and Mark Cross (extreme right). Ralph and Dave really care for, and serve our overseas-based alumni in any way they can.
Kazim continued serving with his Holy Cross College Arima New York group. His friendship with Dave Lalla would grow immensely. And ways would develop to serve one another. Dave supported Kazim by making use of his enormous skills as a computer specialist, involving him in many projects. And Ralph Jennings would also go on to support Kazim tremendously as well.
